Introducing DIVEBAR YOUTH – the project of Vinnie Barbaro, artist, songwriter, and producer.
Known for his versatile songwriting and prolific output, he brings a distinct darkness into the alt-pop and indie realm. Vinnie grew up with the need to adapt; the backdrop of his immigrant family's escape from poverty and their relentless pursuit of a better life instilled in him a drive to continue to progress. From an early age, music became an important outlet for him.
DIVEBAR YOUTH encapsulates Vinnie's evolution as an artist. It signifies not only his personal growth but also his ability to synthesise diverse influences into a cohesive musical vision. Vinnie's journey spans learning instruments, singing, and honing recording and production skills, all fuelled by his desire for self-improvement. He transforms the experience of being an outsider into a tribute to the unconventional and non-conforming.
He has quickly established himself as a powerhouse, gaining regular placements across streaming platforms, rotation on national radio, and a strong and supportive fan base. With the recent release of his sophomore EP, he adds being on the cover of Spotify Fresh Finds AU & NZ to his list of achievements, which include a support slot and mentorship with Angus & Julia Stone, co-signs from Robert Smith (The Cure), placements and endorsements with JBL, Wild Turkey, TikTok, APRA AMCOS, and Smirnoff, as well as millions of streams. He is on his first headline national tour around Australia before playing BIGSOUND, SXSW Sydney, Echolot Festival (Lucerne, CHE) and more. During August ‘24, he was named Australia's most playlisted artist of the week.
